The Story Driving The Numbers

In September of 2020, we began working with Grace Alive Church in Orlando led by Pastors Cam Triggs and Bradley Norris. Good Grain Creative Immediately looked at the longevity of their digital infrastructure and its capacity to be managed by the church long term. Prior to Good Grain Creative, Grace Alive had a Wordpress website that was difficult to edit, and often required the assistance of a designer or consultant that was typically unresponsive.

Since we prioritize the ability of the Church to work independent of Good Grain Creative long term, we suggested switching to Squarespace’s content management infrastructure while maintaining the design language and brand colors of the previous site. As can be seen from September to November, Grace Alive’s Audience doubled in the span of eight weeks, in part to a redesigned, mobile optimized website from Squarespace, in part to the food drive they were promoting during the time of the website’s introduction and the introduction of consistent posting throughout the week.

The dip around Christmas can be explained by those users interested in the food drive disengaging, average session durations remained stable at just under two minutes from December 2020 to June 2021.

From December 2020 to March of 2021, Grace Alive’s audience was consolidated, while there was little growth, consistent posting to the blog with content relevant to their congregation, paired with a weekly email and mirrored social media posting ensured that Grace Alive’s core audience did not decrease beyond those people involved in the food drive.

Starting in April of 2021, Grace Alive’s audience began to grow, and in June of 2021, the exceptional doubling that had happened in the first eight weeks of our partnership were solidified as a normal audience size after a third month of consecutive audience growth wrapped up in June of 2021.

In July of 2021, the data corrected as is normal for churches in quarter 3 where a 40% drop in church wide engagement on all channels is routine.

In August and September, the Lead Pastor, Cam Triggs took a Sabbatical, which also prompted some disengagement.

In October of 2021, Grace Alive cited taking a different approach to their communications as their reason for discontinuing service with us, they thanked us for our work and acknowledged that our time together was marked by incredible growth and engagement in their church with, a guaranteed year on year increase of +18% - +110%. Levels previously unachieved for their church plant under their old infrastructure and strategies.

Their email list grew substantially, and their social media following held above 2200 followers for the duration of our partnership.
